Morning Meditation Monday 08:15
Online
Start your week with stillness and an intention setting. Come into our online safe space where we drop into the stillness of the body to find stillness in the mind. Meditation needs practice and discipline.
Our sessions are designed to kick off the week with a serene Monday morning and set positive intentions for the days ahead. No prior meditation experience is necessary; beginners are warmly welcomed, including those of us returning to a beginner's mind. I will lead the meditation sessions and introduce new techniques or practical tips each week to enhance our practice. I'm excited to connect with you soon.
Somatic exploration: Containment 7:00pm - 08:30
What is containment for you? what is your felt sense of being contained?
Some of us have had this experience in their childhood of being held by their mothers or caregivers in a way that is enough and nourishing, others have been offered little containment and while others didn’t get any of that. In this online somatic practice, we will explore the concept of containment, how to bring our awareness to the body and slow things down to connect with a sense of containment again into remembrance. Link for registration is coming soon.
Saturday All welcome Yoga 11am
Yoga Point Brixton and online
I teach Vinyasa Yoga influenced by Vinyasa Krama (an ancient practice of physical and spiritual development), combining movement and sequence with the breath. By integrating the functions of mind, body and breath in the same time frame, practitioners will experience the real joy of yoga practice. I bring in modifications and variations to make the class accessible to all levels. I believe that yoga is a moving meditation and I emphasise the importance of meditation throughout my class.
Wednesday Yogasana 6pm
Yoga Point Brixton and online
If you want to progress in your yoga practice this summer, I am bringing YOGASANA to Yoga Point. This is a fast pace invigorating Vinyasa flow that maintains a regular sequence over a period of time to offer you the opportunity to progress and develop incrementally. There is a strong emphasis on the breath and a strong physical adjustment. For students looking for a challenge this summer that will get you sweating and certainly challenge your stamina, come and try it out.
Advanced Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, and Meditation teacher
I teach advanced Vinyasa Yoga influenced by Vinyasa Krama (an ancient practice of physical and spiritual development), combining movement and sequence with the breath. By integrating the functions of mind, body and breath in the same time frame, practitioners will experience the real joy of yoga practice. I bring in modifications and variations to ensure the class is accessible, safe and supportive of all levels.
I came to believe that yoga is a moving meditation and in my classes and teachings, I emphasise the importance of meditation and Pranayama.
I completed 5oohrs RYT certificate, trained initially in 2019 in India qualified in Vinyasa (ashtanga-based) and Yin Yoga, and then trained with the fabulous Stewart Gilchrist (East London School of Yoga) completing my advanced 300hrs certification in 2024.
I offer group classes and 1-2-1 private classes tailored to your needs and your levels.
What my classes involve?
My teachings is based on the four principles of Ashtanga Yoga (Yoga with eight limbs): Asana (posture), Pranayama (breath control), Drishti (gaze) or Dharana (concentration) or Dhyana (meditation).
For beginners, I might introduce slow and mild Puraka (inhalation) and Rechaka (exhalation) without straining beyond their capacity.
Yoga Sutra, which is not the only source of knowledge of Yoga, but it is an important and significant one, stated that Raja Yoga is an exact science which aims at controlling all thought-waves or mental modifications (vrittis) towards purification and control.
Yoga teaches discipline, self-control and content (santosha) and this is what I aim to bring to my students from philosophy to practice.
